Beemster believes that education is the foundation that allows for children to be successful in life. As students mature into adults they should seek their passions and try to incorporate them into their lives as much as possible, be it in their careers or their hobbies. Beemster makes use of ‘Betty Bovine’ to help educate and inspire children.

The Beemster balloon pilot, Rebecca Elkins, is a retired school teacher who has over 1,000 hours as a pilot. Her vast professionalism in both fields allows for a one of a kind presentation that can be altered to any school’s needs.

Balloon inflation outside allows children to experience what a real balloon looks like and the work it takes to inflate and lift off in one. Also teachers experience what it feels like to take a ride in a balloon.

Inside, a presentation will be given about ballooning and achieving life goals. This helps to motivate children and inspires them to ask questions of all kinds. Furthermore, a link will be made with achieving goals with regard to healthy and responsible food usage. More information is given about how cheese and other nutritional food can make you enjoy sensible food. A replica of the real Beemster balloon is inflated and stands 10ft tall. But also an indoor balloon (no use of the balloon burners) allows children to walk right inside a real hot air balloon and gives them a whole new experience.

After the presentation a classroom presentation on cheese is provided. This is an informative packet that is left with teachers who wish to give a presentation on cheese to children. Beemster is happy to supply samples for the teacher’s presentation and supply any other information that may be necessary for a successful presentation.
